Dear Reader,
Growing up, my dream job was to work at Hallmark. I wanted to make greeting cards, writing poems for their insides and drawing pictures for their outsides. I suppose Winter’s Daily Tarot is the 2021 manifestation of that 30-year-old vision.
Over the years, I’ve channeled my creative energy in fits and starts.
In the mid- to late-aughts, I was at the avant-garde of the Mommy Blogger movement but my output there diminished as my children and professional obligations grew. I started writing poetry in grade 7 and stopped shortly after my first and only poetry chapbook was published in 2011.
Through these peaks and valleys of activity, I’ve found that I perform better in my day job (which involves a lot of professional writing) if I am also actively practicing writing for fun. Winter’s Daily Tarot is an outlet to do that.
I also believe in karma — what goes around, comes around. So every once in a while, on a new or full moon, or in periods of intense personal energy (such as during the recent death of my Uncle Brad), I tap into my intuition and cast the cards into the future. And then I wait, wondering what these daily messages from the stars will mean for me with the fullness of time behind them.
If these messages mean anything to you too, I’d love to know.
Sending good vibes only,
